Description

No. 4 Vicarage Row is a house located in Alton, dating from the early 18th century with later alterations. It is constructed of ashlar stone featuring herringbone tooling and has a plain tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The building has a two-cell plan, aligned north-south and facing east, with the entrance situated at the south end of the east front, opening in the smaller of the two bays. It stands two storeys high with coved eaves and has three windows, which are 20th-century casements, some set within 18th-century frames. There is a 20th-century gabled porch to the left, which includes a glazed door.
