Description
Corner Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed of red brick with ashlar quoins of unequal length and features a plain tile roof with brick integral end stacks. The building has a 2-cell baffle-entry plan, aligned east-west and facing south, with extensions to the west and north. There are three windows, all casements, with segmental heads on the ground floor, and a central door that also has a segmental head. To the left, there is a low single bay ashlar extension with a coped verge. Inside, the cottage has stopped ceiling beams and a large open fireplace on the west wall, which includes a chamfered and stopped bresummer. A screen in front of the door creates a baffle.
