Description

A hay barn, dating from circa 1806, and partially converted into three cottages to the west of White Barn Farm, was designed by Samuel Wyatt for Viscount Anson. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings, and features a deeply overhanging pitched slate roof with wooden diagonal strut supports, and three brick stacks. Originally a 12-bay single-storey barn, the southern nine bays were converted into cottages in the early 19th century. These cottages have plank doors and 2-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars and segmental heads. Five gable dormers are present above the cottages, each with a 2-light casement window. Two flat, round-ended piers are located in each bay.
