Tunnel entrances in Shugborough Park date from the mid-19th century. The east side is relatively simple, featuring a rusticated rounded arch. In contrast, the west side showcases an elaborate Gothic design with castellated features, including flanking towers and embattled parapets, topped with a pointed arch.
