Description
The Newport Branch Canal Basin Bridge (Number 1) at Norbury Junction is an accommodation bridge built between 1829 and 1832, designed by Telford. It is constructed of stone, featuring a stone band and copings. The bridge has a single elliptical arch made of voussoirs, with the stonework slightly battered outwards towards the base. On the west side, there is a solid parapet and piers, while the east side has a solid, low, curving parapet and an oval iron number plate. Additionally, there are two iron rope fenders and stone towpath coping beneath the bridge.
