Description

NORBURY 1. 2385 Old Rectory SJ 72 SE 7/6 II

  1. Early C18 wing enclosed on North and East sides by wings, L-shaped on plan, added 183O. Brick with tiled roofs and tall brick stacks set diagonally; 2 storeys and 2 storeys and attic. Earlier wing has 3 window front of wood mullioned casements with pointed leaded lights and central 6 panelled door, all with segmental heads. East front, in Gothic style, has advanced gabled bay at centre flanked by tiered stone mullioned bay windows with embattled parapets; bold eaves with ornamental fascia; buttresses at ends. North side has 4 2-light mullioned windows with plain stone hood moulds. originally a moated site.
