Description

The Old Post Office in Standon is a 17th-century building that has undergone some later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infill, set on a stone base. The structure is one storey plus an attic and includes three renewed casement windows, one of which is located in a blocked former doorway. There are two gabled dormers, with the one on the left-hand side being bow-fronted. A small oriel window is present on the north side above an altered doorway that used to serve as the entrance to the former post office. The roof is covered with tiles, and the interior retains some exposed ceiling beams.
