Description

The Old Smithy is an early 19th-century building located on Hilderstone Road in Sandon. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features one storey plus an attic. On the left-hand side, there is a projecting gabled bay that includes a casement window set in a stone keyed surround. To the right, a large doorway is framed by a stone keyed surround with a 4-centred arched head, leading to a ledged divided door adorned with ornamental wrought iron bands. The building also has moulded stone eaves and ornamental tiles.
