Description
Dawber Cottages, dated 1904-1905 and designed by Sir Guy Dawber, is a pair of cottages featuring a sham timber frame and roughcast exterior, with the ground floor partly constructed of red brick and stone angle quoins. The building is two storeys high and has a U-shaped plan.
On the north-west elevation, there are projecting gabled bays at either end, each with a 5-light wood mullioned casement window. The center features a 3-light gabled dormer that breaks above the eaves, along with two plain doorways; the left doorway is sheltered by a tiled pentice, while the right has a wooden gabled porch supported by posts.
The north-east front also includes two projecting gabled bays, with the right bay showcasing a 5-light canted oriel window and the left bay having a plain doorway beneath a tiled pentice. A 3-light box dormer is positioned at the center, breaking above the eaves. The cottages feature leaded lights throughout, sprocket eaves, tall brick stacks, and tiled roofs.
