Description
The Dog and Doublet Inn is a building dated 1906, designed by architect Sir Guy Dawber. It features a sham timber frame, roughcast, and red brick construction. The inn is L-shaped and has two storeys. The front elevation, facing northwest, includes a projecting gabled bay on the left side and another on the right, which has a stone rusticated semi-circular carriage arch beneath a wide projecting gable. The windows are wood mullioned casements, arranged irregularly and fitted with leaded lights. To the left, there is a plain doorway with a hipped tile roof supported by wood. The building has overhanging eaves, tall brick stacks, and tiled roofing. At the rear, there is a long wing with irregular fenestration, topped with a wood lantern.
