Description

This building is a cottage located in Baswich, dating from the 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the late 18th century and 20th century. It is constructed from brick and timber framing with brick nogging, and features a 20th-century concrete tile roof with two brick ridge stacks. The cottage has a single storey plus an attic and follows a two-bay lobby-entry plan, with a late 18th-century addition to the west and a 20th-century lean-to addition to the east.

The off-centre doorway has a 20th-century door and a gabled porch supported by brackets. To the right of the doorway, there is a single two-light casement window beneath a segmental arched brick head. To the left, there is a three-light casement window, followed by another two-light casement under a segmental arched brick head, and another two-light casement beneath a wooden lintel. Above these, there is a single 20th-century gabled casement, and to the left, there are two three-light raking dormers.

Inside, the cottage retains timber stud partition walls and intact timber-framed external walls from the original structure, along with two bressumer fireplaces and stop-chamfered spine beams.
