Description

Four houses were built around 1780, with an addition dating to the 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with stucco dressings, topped by a tile roof and brick stacks. They are arranged with a double-depth plan and are in a Georgian style. The houses are three storeys high with a five-window front; number 25 has a double-fronted design and an addition to its left end. A top cogged brick cornice runs along the roofline. Each house features a round-headed entrance – numbers 21 and 25 have pilaster strips and bracketed open pediments over their six-fielded-panel doors, while number 23 has a doorcase with pilasters, entablature blocks, and an open pediment over its six-fielded-panel door. The windows have wedge lintels with ogival shaping and keys above the 16-pane horned sashes; the second floor has 8-pane sashes, except for number 25, which has 4-pane sashes to the first and second floors, and to the ground floor of its left-hand addition, where there are also blocked segmental-headed windows above. The left return, relating to number 27, includes a two-storey gabled wing with a basement. The rear of the building has a largely altered rear range.
