Description

Church Hill House is an early 18th-century house with alterations and an addition from the early 19th century. It is located on the west side of Church Hill in Kinver, alongside an attached former coach house, gates, and railings. Originally two parallel ranges aligned north-south and facing east, the main house is constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof. It features three storeys, with reduced proportions to the second floor, a plain parapet with moulded coping, and giant corner pilasters incorporating triglyphs, although not extending to the uppermost storey. The front facade has five windows with 18-pane glazing bar sashes, each with a gauged brick head, raised and fluted keys, and a moulded sill. A central six-panel door is flanked by Ionic pilasters and topped with a moulded cornice hood and a fanlight featuring radiating glazing bars.

To the right of the main house stands the two-storey former coach house, with two bays. Its first-floor windows have semi-circular heads, and garage doors are present on the ground floor.

Wrought iron gates and railings enclose a small forecourt at the front of the main house, contributing to the Group Value of the ensemble.
