Description
No. 125 (Cliffside) is a house located on High Street, dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a plain tile roof with raised verges and brick integral end stacks. It stands three storeys tall and is characterized by giant angle pilasters and a moulded eaves cornice, with reduced proportions on the second floor. The facade has three bays, with a central pedimented break that includes a blind quatrefoil in the pediment. The windows are glazing bar sashes with keyed lintels, and the ground floor windows are fitted with external shutters. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door, with the upper two panels being glazed, surrounded by a panelled and eared architrave and topped with a bracketed pediment.
Inside, there is a massive kitchen fireplace featuring a keyed segmental arch, and a late 19th-century staircase with turned balusters.
