Description
The gates, gate piers, and adjoining wall located approximately 35 yards south of the Church of St. Mary date from the 18th century or early 19th century. The gate piers are made of ashlar and are cylindrical on square bases. They feature a cabled string and a moulded cornice that displays a series of similar armorial bearings around the top. Each pier is topped with a cast iron coronet adorned with floral decoration, which surrounds a stone cockerel. The double iron gates are also decorated with floral motifs and are flanked by iron gate posts, with short lengths of railings connecting to the stone piers. To the east, there is an ashlar wall that is approximately 3 feet high and 5 yards long, decorated with ball ornaments.
