Description
The well house, located about 70 meters south-east of Keele Hall, was likely built between 1860 and 1880. It is constructed from rusticated sandstone ashlar and features a wide-spreading pyramidal roof with modillions. The building has a square plan and is designed in an Italianate style. It includes a chamfered plinth and cornice, with a round-headed arch on each side that has narrow imposts and heavy voussoirs, each of which is closed by a plain cast-iron grille. This well house was formerly the main water source for Keele Hall.
