Description
This chest tomb, located approximately 10 meters north of the church, commemorates Samuel Mayer, who died in 1738. It was created by W. Spence of Liverpool. The tomb is rectangular in shape and features a depressed pyramidal cap that is elevated on steps. The long sides of the tomb are inscribed with lettering, while the pilasters at the corners are adorned with carved emblems representing themes such as the passion and justice. Additionally, the lugged angles of the cap are decorated with crouching angels and wheatsheafs.
