Description
The Earl of Lichfield Arms Public House is a late 18th-century building located on Conduit Street in Lichfield. The projecting part of the front was rebuilt in the late 20th century to resemble the original design. The structure is constructed of brick with ashlar dressing and features a tiled roof with brick stacks. It stands three storeys high, with a single-window range on the left and a projecting single-window range on the right in the rebuilt front. The windows include 12-pane sashes with gauged brick lintels and 6-pane sashes on the second floor, topped with a cornice. The entrance is situated under an arcade and features a panelled door. The ground floor includes a large two-light fixed window to the left of the entrance and a shop-type window to the left, which has a richly consoled fascia and three round-headed lights. There are wings at the rear of the building. Inside, the public house features chamfered beams and some exposed timber-framed cross walls.
