Description
Little Aston Mill and the adjoining house to the northeast are a water-powered corn mill and house, likely built in the mid-19th century, with some 18th-century elements on an earlier site. The buildings are constructed of brick and topped with tile roofs.
The southeast elevation features the house on the right, which is a single storey with an attic and includes a string course. The earlier section has a window and doors on both sides, along with two timber attic dormers. To the right, there is a one-bay addition with a window that has a segmental head. Further additions are located at the rear of the house.
To the left, the mill continues the roofline of the house at a higher level and includes a wheelpit on the left side, where an iron wheel can be seen through an arched opening in the left-hand gable wall. Adjacent to the house, a gabled wing projects forward and is two storeys with an attic. Its front gable wall features openings with plain reveals on the first and attic floors, and there is a door on the ground floor to the right.
Inside, the left-hand room of the house has a chamfered beam and a brick inglenook. The mill retains timber floors and still houses some of its machinery, including the wheel, gearing, vertical shaft, stones, chutes, and sack hoist.
