Description
This barn, located approximately 50 meters north of Ingley Hill Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century with early 19th-century additions. It is constructed of red brick and features a tiled roof with verge parapets supported by corbelled kneelers. The east elevation has six tiers of small slit vents, some of which are now blocked. There is a full-height threshing floor entry to the right of the center, which has a segmental head and double boarded doors, along with a later lean-to on the left side. The south gable includes a hay loft door above a stable door, and there is a flush stable wing of similar eaves height with two doors to the left. This barn closely resembles its counterpart at Horsley Brook Farm, and both are part of the Swinfen Hall Estate.
