Description

Two houses, likely originating in the 17th century and substantially rebuilt around 1810, with some later alterations. The houses are constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and have a parapeted roof. They are arranged with a double-depth plan and are in a Georgian style, with a 3-storey, 5-window front. The brick parapet is plain and coped. The central entrance has a doorcase with pilasters, a panelled frieze, and a bracketed cornice over a 6-panel, half-glazed door. The right-hand entrance, originally a window, has a rubbed brick flat arch with a key stone above a 6-panel door with an overlight. The windows have sills and rubbed brick flat arches with key stones over 12-pane, horned sashes. The second-floor windows are also 12-pane, horned sashes, however, the first-floor window on the right end is an 8-pane sash and the window above it is a 4-pane, horned sash. Ground-floor windows to the left of the central entrance are replacement windows from 1985, which replaced a 20th-century shop front. The interior includes some chamfered beams to the front centre and right end, together with stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
