Description
No. 25 Dam Street is a house dating from the mid to late 16th century, with later alterations. It features a combination of brick and timber framing with brick infill, and has a tile roof with a brick stack, forming an L-plan structure.
The house is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The ground floor is constructed of brick, possibly serving as underbuilding for a jettied structure, and is adorned with a brick platt band above. The first floor exhibits irregular framing. The entrance is located at the left end and includes a 20th-century door with a filled-in segmental head above it. The ground floor has segmental-headed windows fitted with 20th-century leaded casements. On the first floor, there are gabled half-dormers with casements that have iron opening casements and leaded glazing featuring diamond quarries. At the rear, there is a brick gabled wing that includes casement windows and a large lateral stack on the left side.
