Description

The Gables and the adjoining property are a pair of cottages dating to around 1840. They are constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, distinguished by ornamental fretted barge boards featuring finials and pendants, and a brick stack with a pair of tall octagonal shafts. The cottages are designed in the Tudor style and have a roughly L-shaped layout, incorporating a north-facing projecting east wing and doorways facing north and east. The building is one storey in height with an attic. The projecting gabled wing on the left has a ground-floor bay window and an attic casement. To the right is a gabled porch with a Tudor-arched doorway above which is an overlight. A gabled attic dormer is located at the junction of the two wings.
