Description

Mill Farmhouse and the attached mill are located in Stramshall, with the mill dating back to 1771 and the farmhouse from the early to mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick that has been painted white, topped with a plain tile roof. The farmhouse is situated to the right and features a gabled mill on the left.

The farmhouse has three storeys, with the second floor having reduced proportions and dentilled eaves. It consists of three bays, featuring 16-pane glazing bar sash windows with small horns. The ground-floor windows have raised keystones, and there is a central four-panelled door that is sheltered by a gabled timber porch.

The mill also has three storeys and is one bay wide. It includes a large garage opening on the ground floor to the right and a small boarded window opening to the left with a segmental head. The first floor has a central boarded door with a segmental head, and there is a plaque to the right dated "S". The second floor features a central gabled projection with an open floor marked "J M" for hoisting. To the left of the mill is a single-storey wheel house.

Inside, the mill retains its machinery, except for the water wheel, which was replaced by a water turbine in 1902. The mill also has a king-post roof.
