Description
The Wheatsheaf Inn is a building dating from 1756, located on the east side of Bridge Street. It features early 19th century and modern alterations to its earlier timber frame. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with three casement windows that have plain lintels and hood moulds. The sides of the building are accented with quoins, and there is a decorative band. The later parapet is upswept at the center. The entrance is highlighted by a moulded stucco doorcase with panelled pilasters, a six-panel door, and a slight cornice hood supported by enriched consoles. The ground floor windows have modern designs. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed.
