Description

This is an early 19th-century house located in Tatenhill. It is built of red brick with a slate roof and has end stacks. The house has a rectangular, compact U-shaped plan with rear wings attached. The front facade is two storeys high and features a three-window arrangement. The windows are glazing bar sashes with painted keystone heads. A central entrance is accessed via a flat-roofed, single-storey porch which has a Tuscan doorcase and double part-glazed doors. The house is set well back from the road, and a large cedar tree contributes to a park-like feel, along with a nearby stable and carriage shed (listed separately). These ancillary buildings are situated on the lane frontage.
