Description
The Horseshoe is a house that has been converted into an inn. It has a core that dates back to the 17th century, with a refacing from the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a tiled roof, with an end stack on the right and a ridge stack on the left. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and has a three-window front. The eaves are stepped, and there is one gabled dormer positioned to the right of the center. The windows are three-light small-pane casements, and the ground floor windows have segmental heads with non-fitting shutters. A boarded door is located to the right of the dormer.
Inside, the attic reveals three bays with exposed timber framed trusses. There is a chamfered firehood beam and chamfered ceiling beams in the room to the right of the entrance. The inn serves as a focal point in the village, linking the buildings around the church with the lower village.
