Description
Dunscombe House is a house built in the mid-19th century, featuring ashlar stonework and a slate roof with integral end stacks. It showcases elements of a vernacular revival style. The building has two storeys and three bays, with the two outer bays gabled and adorned with barge boards and a decorative balustraded arch at the apex. The ground floor has angled bay windows with four lights on the left and right, containing round arched plate glass sashes. The first floor features chamfered mullioned windows with plate glass sashes; the outer windows have three lights each, while the central window has two lights. A central gabled porch with coped verges on shaped kneelers leads to a half-glazed door through an open basket arch. Dunscombe House is a notable example of estate architecture from this period, specifically for Calwich Park.
