Description
The boathouse, located immediately southeast of Portobello Bridge, dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of red brick. It has a square plan and stands two stories high, featuring a parapet and corner pilasters. The structure consists of a single cell and has pointed doorways on the north and west sides, each with a raised surround and a boarded door. There is a small rectangular opening near the top of the building, and it is adorned with ashlar corner finials. The boathouse appears to have been converted for another use, possibly as a pump house.
