Description

These wrought iron gates and railings date from the late 18th to early 19th century and mark the south side of St Luke’s Churchyard. The composition includes a pair of main gates, each with a single gate on either side. Four openwork posts support the railings; each post has a high, domed, fluted cap topped with a small urn finial. The design is comparable to the wrought ironwork found at Shire Hall in Stafford and the bridge over Minster Pool in Lichfield.
