Description

White House is a late 16th century to early 17th century timber-framed house with whitened brick infill panels. It was formerly a Post Office. The house features close-set studding on the gabled crosswing to the right (west) and herring-bone timber framing in the central part, which has a jettied gable above. To the left (east) is a 19th century brick gabled crosswing. The building has two storeys and 19th century three-light casements with glazing bars. There is a pilastered doorcase to the right of the centre, a machine tile roof, and 19th century brick chimney stacks.
