Description
Ketley Hall is an 18th-century brick house with late 18th-century to early 19th-century wings. It features a plain tile hipped roof behind a parapet with stone coping. The building stands three storeys high and has a façade arranged in a 2:3:2 bay pattern. The central three bays represent the original two-storey house, which has a brick dentil eaves course above the first-floor windows. The house was heightened to three storeys, with three second-floor sashes set in segmental-headed openings. The ground and first floors feature sashes in flush casing, along with a central doorcase that has a late 19th-century porch. The projecting two-storey wings on either side have two bays each and are adorned with large sash windows that include glazing bars and lintels with keyblocks. A continuous parapet runs across the entire building, with a stringcourse above the second-floor windows. Joseph Reynolds, the son of Richard Reynolds, likely resided here after 1793, the year of his marriage. By around 1818, the house was occupied by Henry Williams, the engineer and superintendent of the Shropshire Canal Company.
