Description

Nos 61 and 62 on High Street are a pair of cottages dating from the early 17th century. They feature a timber-framed construction with pilastered infill panels, set on a plinth of sandstone and brick. The cottages are gabled to the right and have one storey with an attic, displaying two modern three-light mullion windows. There is a gabled dormer on the left side and a central brick chimney stack. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with plain tiles, ending in gabled peaks.

To the left, there is an early to mid-19th century brick addition that has a lower pitched tile roof. This addition is two storeys high and has two windows with sashes that include glazing bars. The ground floor features a mid-19th century pilastered shop front with an entablature, a square bay, and a doorway topped with a rectangular fanlight. At the rear, there is an 18th century wing made of sandstone and brick.
