Description

No. 1 Station Road is a building dating from around 1838, originally serving as the Station Master's House. It consists of two parallel blocks connected by a lower transverse wing. The structure is made of red brick and stands two storeys high, featuring three sash windows. Plain pilasters define the bays, and there is a sill band. The entrance has a recessed doorcase flanked by plain columns, topped with a rectangular fanlight and a six-panelled divided door. The building also has a plain stuccoed frieze and a moulded cornice, with a slate roof.
