Description
Ivy Farmhouse is an early 17th-century box timber-framed building that has been altered in the 18th and 19th centuries. It stands at one and a half storeys with brick infill and a roughcast painted front. Originally, it was a one-storey hall and service range, featuring a contemporary crosswing that projects from the front elevation. The farmhouse has gable end tiled roofs, 19th-century sash and casement windows, and a small gabled dormer. A large central ridge stack serves both the hall and the crosswing, while there is also an 18th-century external stack at the front. The small cottage to the west is likely an ancillary service unit for the farmhouse. The timber frame is exposed at the rear and at the entrance end of the hall, where a lean-to porch has been added. Inside, there is a baffle entry with a staircase to the right of the entrance door.
