Description
22 and 23 The Wharfage are a pair of 18th-century cottages located in Ironbridge. They are constructed of brick, with number 23 on the left being rendered. The cottages feature a plain tile roof with gabled ends and a brick dentil eaves course. They are one storey and attic high, with a five-window range, plus a 19th-century addition with one window at the west end. The 19th-century attic has gabled dormers with old casements, while the ground floor has modern casements and a splayed bay. Number 22 includes a pilastered doorcase with an entablature and a panelled door. Both cottages have rendered brick end and ridge chimney stacks. They are included for their group value.
