Description
This is a warehouse with a clock tower, built around 1792, with the clock tower added in 1843. It is constructed of red brick and features a double span roof with two small gables at each end. The building has three storeys and a nine-window range, with small-paned casements that include cast-iron glazing bars, lintels, and sills. The ground floor has cast-iron doorheads and a wide elliptical-headed opening on the right side. There are four-window return elevations. The central square clock tower is made of cast iron and has a cupola topped with a fluted ball finial, fluted angle shafts, and a round clock face on each side, adorned with enriched spandrels. The clock housing is supported by an ornamental openwork cast-iron cradle with splayed legs. This warehouse was built by the Coalbrookdale Company.
