Description

The former Grove Inn, Coalbrookdale, dates to 1839, with later alterations. It comprises two parallel blocks. The north-facing front has a three-light, two-storey angular bay, featuring sash windows. A tiled pentice roof covers the bay. A moulded wooden doorcase is set back within the left-hand window bay; it incorporates a plain rectangular fanlight, a cornice hood, and a four-panelled door. The building has modillion eaves and a tile roof. Cast-iron railings enclose a small forecourt. Adjoining the north front, the south block is a long, early 19th century two-storey, two-window range, with a stack on the front wall and a small bay window to the side.
