Description

The lamp post at the Wellington Road works entrance, located west of the Wesleyan Chapel, dates from around 1897. It is made of cast iron and features a fluted round shaft set on a round pedestal, topped with a Corinthian capital. The lettering on the lamp post indicates that it was erected by public subscription to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of 1897. It was cast at Coalbrookdale.
