Description
The gatehouse located south-west of Madeley Court dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features tiled roofs. The structure has two octagonal turrets that rise two stories and include an attic, flanking a round-arched carriageway, which is currently blocked. Above the carriageway, there is a shaped gable that supports a mullion window on the first floor. The turrets are topped with pyramidal roofs and are adorned with moulded stone cornices, moulded strings, and an entablature over the ground storey, along with circular stone medallions.
