Description
The tomb of Josiah Wedgwood, located in St Peter's Churchyard approximately 70 meters south of the church, dates from around 1795. It is made of stone and features a squared paved area with edge coping, likely covering a vault. Originally, the tomb had iron railings. A central raised panel, which is probably a later addition, is inscribed with the name "Josiah Wedgwood 1730-1795." Josiah Wedgwood was buried at the entrance of the original church of St. Peter ad Vincula, which was demolished in 1829, rather than inside the church because he was not a member of the Church of England.
