Description
The chest tombs of the Spode family, located in St Peter's Churchyard approximately 100 meters southwest of the church, date from 1793 to 1827. Made of stone, there are five chest tombs raised on a mount. Each tomb features two simply moulded panels on each long side, which include inscriptions, and a blind oval panel on the short side. Some of the tombs also have fluted pilasters at the corners. These tombs commemorate members of the Spode family who passed away between 1797 and 1827.
