Description

The conservation workshop, built around 1874, is located to the south of the Tile Press Shop at the Jackfield Tile Museum. It is part of the works designed by Charles Lynam for the Craven Dunnill Tile Company. The building features mottled brick construction with coated tile and corrugated sheet roofs. It is a single-storey rectangular structure with a double roof and an outshut on the north side. The west end has two double doors and several wooden casement windows with glazing bars, including a window at each gable. The north side has low eaves, four broad casement windows, and two doorways, along with a lower outshut on the right that has three boarded doors and roof lights. This workshop was originally used for preparing glazes and would have housed grinding machines and a frit kiln.
