Description
Lake Cottage is an estate cottage built in the mid-19th century, with a late 19th-century addition at the rear. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features deep eaves beneath a hipped slate roof, which has a catslide over a two-storey outshut to the right and a one-storey outshut to the left. The building has a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall. A large central stone ridge stack with a dressed stone cornice is complemented by a later brick stack at the rear left. The front has two windows, which are three-light straight-sided arched metal casements with intersecting tracery and brick heads, along with a central straight-sided arched boarded doorway. The left side elevation has one bay and includes a blocked doorway. The cottage is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Walcot Cottage.
