Description

The Garden House is a gazebo that has been converted into a house, built after 1763, likely by Sir William Chambers. It features red brick construction and a pyramidal slate roof. The building has a hexagonal plan with a small addition made in the mid to late 20th century to the southeast. Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice, three triangular pedimented dormers with two-light casements, and a central hexagonal wooden cupola topped with a pyramidal lead cap. There is a stack located on the north side. The windows are mid to late 20th century glazing bar sashes, and there is a one-storey lean-to added in the 20th century, which includes a half-glazed door and a small casement on the northeast side.
