Description
Shooter's Hill is a farmhouse dating from around 1830. It is constructed of stuccoed brick that is lined to resemble ashlar, and it has a hipped slate roof. The building has an irregular L-shape and stands two storeys tall. Notable architectural features include a plinth, end pilaster strips, a first-floor cill string, a reeded frieze, and a dentil eaves cornice. There are brick ridge stacks located off-centre to the left and right, as well as three additional stacks at the rear. The facade consists of three bays with glazing bar sashes that have moulded architraves; the first floor has 16 panes while the ground floor has 20 panes.
At the centre, there is a pair of flush-panelled half-glazed doors with margin lights, topped by a rectangular overlight also with margin lights. A set of two steps leads up to an Ionic porch, which features coupled unfluted columns, plain pilasters behind, and an entablature with a reeded frieze, dentil cornice, and a blocking course. Small stone globes are positioned at the foot of the steps. The right-hand return front has two bays, while the left-hand return front has one bay and includes a set-back lower block of one bay. The interior has not been inspected, but panelled window shutters have been noted. This farmhouse is part of a small group that includes gates and gate piers to the north-west and a stable block to the east.
