Description
This is a stone signpost located in Little Brampton, Clunbury, dating from 1800 and commissioned by the Second Lord Clive. It is made of limestone and features cast-iron direction sheets. The signpost has a circular section with three plain raised bands, a square base, and a domed cap. A metal band below the cap holds four direction signs with pierced lettering that reads "LUDLOW, BS. CASTLE, CLUNN, Cn. GUNFORD." A late 20th-century metal inscription on the base notes that the post was erected in 1800 for the Second Lord Clive, who was the first Earl of Powis, and it has been moved from its original position on the nearby road.
