22/10033 Cartshed immediately NNW of Hoards Park Farmhouse

Cartshed with hay-loft. Circa mid C19. Buff-coloured and blue bricks. Clay plain tile roof with gabled ends and corbelled brick eaves cornice. PLAN: Rectangular-on-plan cartshed with 4-bay arcaded west front and loft above with external stairs to loft doorway in south gable end. At the north end there is a lower cartshed without a loft. The rear wall is built over the earlier garden wall that is situated immediately north of the house. EXTERIOR: 2 storey 4-bay west front, the ground floor with arcaded open front with segmental arches and brick piers with bull-nose brick arrises. Similar arrises to four round pitching-eyes to loft above. On the south gable-end there are brick stairs with a solid brick balustrade to a loft doorway; above the doorway a diamond pattern of ventilation holes in brickwork. Segmental arch doorway in rear wall, originally the garden wall doorway. At the north end a lower single-storey cartshed. INTERIOR not inspected.
