Description
The Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was extended in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-frame and plaster construction, with some brick infill, and has a plain tile roof. The base of the rubble stack has a tablet inscribed with "ECM 1687," and there are composite brick chimneys. The building has a T-shaped plan, with gable wings added in the 19th century. It is a single storey with an attic and has scattered windows, which include cast-iron lattice glazed lights and casements, all under simple hoods. There are gable dormers and spike finials on the gables. The south side has a plank door beneath a simple porch hood, which also features a spike finial.
