Description
No. 8 High Street is a building that originally served as shops and dwellings, dating from the 17th to 18th century. It features a plaster exterior and a timber-frame structure topped with a hipped slate roof. The building stands three stories tall and has a three-window range. The windows on the upper floors are 20th-century 6/6 sashes set in moulded cases with architraves, while there are similar 3/3 sashes above. The ground floor has a 20th-century shopfront. The facade facing Market Square includes two 20th-century 6/6 sashes in close studding, supported by two massive joists that hold up a shallow jetty and lighter studding, along with two 20th-century 3/3 sashes. The front facing Market Street is made of plaster and features 20th-century windows and a door.
